I am going to try & build one acoustic guitar & don't want to put any real money into a side bender at this time. What would you guys recommend. I have a heat gun & have seen demos of it being used to heat a large metal pipe which was used to bend the wood. Is there anything else that might work for this possible one time bend? idunno

Tony,
The least expensive is probably going to be a pipe with a torch blowing into it.
Check out the Cumpiano book. Even the Sloan book. They both detail how to do this.
